Due to growth a vacancy has arisen for a scrap material handler operator based at our Waterford facilities.The purpose of the material handler operative is to carry out all activities necessary to ensure the safe loading, sorting and unloading of scrap metal. To organise material to ensure good standards of housekeeping are met.Key accountabilities of the Crane Driver/General Operative include:Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper mannerAssist with the loading and unloading of shipsSafely stockpile various grades of scrap metalEnsure materials are stored in accordance with company policyEnsure daily checks are completedAttend any training courses that the company proposesCo-ordinate with other operatives to ensure the correct processing of all loadsProcess material to conform with grade specifications as directed by Site SupervisorAssist in the scheduling of inward and outward transportLiaise with customers, drivers and contractors who visit the siteEnsure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all timesOperate weighbridge as and when requiredReport to Regional ManagerPerform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably requireComply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and CommunityApplicants must have exceptional organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills combined with integrity and confidentiality.
