Our client, a leading supplier of luxury mini coaches in Ireland, is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead their busy service department based in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing workshop operations, driving service efficiency, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven people management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced automotive environment.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop & Team Management
1. Oversee day-to-day service operations, ensuring effective job scheduling and workflow.
2. Manage and support a team of service staff to maintain high-quality work standards.
3. Coordinate subcontractor services as needed to meet workshop demands.
4. Ensure timely preparation and delivery of vehicles to customers.
5. Maintain health and safety compliance in all workshop activities.
Operational Excellence
6. Streamline service operations to minimize vehicle downtime and maximize throughput.
7. Track job progress, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
8. Identify and resolve any technical or delivery-related issues.
Customer Relationship Management
9. Act as the main point of contact for service customers, offering clear and timely communication.
10. Build strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
11. Handle and resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional manner.
Interdepartmental Collaboration
12. Work closely with Sales and Operations to support vehicle delivery timelines and client expectations.
13. Provide management with regular performance updates and service department reports.
Requirements:
14. Proven experience in a service management or similar role, ideally within the commercial vehicle or automotive sector.
15. Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
17. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate under pressure.
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with workshop service systems.
19. A D or D1 driving licence is desirable but not essential.
