Overview An established, highly accredited laboratory services organisation is seeking a Quality Manager to lead its Quality Management System across microbiology and chemistry testing operations.
This role has been created as part of planned succession, with a structured handover and support period to ensure long-term success.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance, strengthening quality culture, and contributing to site-level strategy and decision-making.
Responsibilities Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and accreditation body requirements Act as the primary quality contact for clients, regulators, and external auditors Lead internal, client, and accreditation audits; manage CAPAs, change control, and document governance Monitor quality metrics, non-conformances, trends, and KPIs to drive measurable improvements Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management Collaborate closely with laboratory leadership to ensure robust SOPs, validations, and testing integrity Support training, competency, and proficiency testing across laboratory teams Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on turnaround times, service delivery, and customer satisfaction Contribute actively to the site leadership team, supporting strategic and operational goals What You Bring Proven experience in a Quality leadership role within a laboratory environment Strong working knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and accreditation requirements Experience supporting or leading audits, inspections, and quality investigations Ability to align quality objectives with broader business and operational strategy Collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence across functions Commitment to continuous improvement and regulatory excellence Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline (Master's advantageous)5+ years in laboratory quality or QA roles, including leadership responsibility Experience within food or environmental testing laboratories strongly preferred Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, EPA, or equivalent Why Join This is a senior, visible role with genuine influence—offering the opportunity to shape quality strategy, support a growing organisation, and lead a mature QMS within a highly regulated testing environment.
