Job Description
Integration Engineer
We are seeking an experienced API Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise‑grade APIs that integrate cloud platforms with on‑premise banking application suites. The role focuses on developing reliable and scalable integration services, enabling secure data exchange across channels and systems (core banking, payments, fraud, risk, CRM, digital platforms), while meeting stringent regulatory, availability, and security requirements.
You will work closely with solution architects, platform engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver API products aligned to bank integration patterns, including synchronous REST services and event‑driven integrations.
Direct line reporting:

Head of Architecture and Core Banking – Europe

1. Accountabilities and Responsibilities
API Design & Delivery

Design and implement RESTful APIs and integration services connecting cloud services to on‑prem banking systems.
Create reusable API patterns for common banking capabilities (customer, accounts, payments, transactions, entitlements).
Define and maintain API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), versioning strategies, and backward compatibility.
Deliver APIs that meet performance, latency, availability, and resiliency expectations (e.g., timeouts, retries, circuit breakers).

Security, Compliance & Controls

Implement strong API security controls: OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT validation, request signing, API gateway policies, and rate limiting.
Apply secure coding practices and align solutions with bank security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory expectations (e.g., least privilege, encryption in transit/at rest).
Collaborate with security to support threat modelling, pen‑test remediation, and secure configuration management.

Cloud‑On‑Prem Connectivity & Integration

Build and operate integration flows using enterprise tooling (API gateway, service mesh, ESB/iPaaS, message brokers).
Implement hybrid connectivity patterns such as VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect equivalents, private endpoints, network segmentation, and secure routing.
Integrate with on‑prem technologies (MQ, legacy services, SOAP where required, databases, batch systems) and modern cloud services.

Observability & Operations

Implement observability: structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
Support production deployments and incident triage; conduct root cause analysis and introduce reliability improvements.
Automate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure/Configuration as Code where applicable.

Engineering Excellence

Write clean, testable code (unit/integration/contract tests).
Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture governance.
Document API products and integration runbooks for support and operational readiness.

2. Experience and Key Competencies
Knowledge & Experience

5+ years developing APIs/integration services in regulated enterprise environments; banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.
BA/MBA in IT or relevant experience.
Proven experience building hybrid integrations: cloud to on‑prem application connectivity and secure data exchange.
Strong hands‑on experience with API design, implementation, and lifecycle management.

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in one or more of: Java (Spring Boot), .NET, Node.js, or Python for API development.
Strong experience with API gateways (Apigee, Kong, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Mulesoft, etc.).
Experience with messaging/eventing platforms: Kafka, MQ, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, etc.
Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Strong understanding of integration patterns: sync/async, pub/sub, idempotency, retries, backpressure, saga/compensation, and data consistency.
Strong understanding of data formats (JSON, XML, Avro) and schema evolution.

Security & Quality

Practical experience implementing OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, certificate management, secrets management (Vault, Key Vault, Secrets Manager).
Experience with SDLC controls: SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, secure CI pipelines.
Test automation: unit tests, integration tests, consumer‑driven contract testing (Pact).

Red Hat – Senior Integration Engineer
Red Hat Telco Engineering is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to join the Integration team supporting Telco 5G product offerings. You will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing the container platform for 5G telecommunication companies, contributing to industry‑leading technologies in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
As a part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams and open source communities around the globe. To be successful in this role, you will need to have motivation, curiosity, passion for problem solving, experience with Telco technologies, Linux, Kubernetes, and open source.
What you will do

Play an active role researching and then integrating various Kubernetes and TelCo features into an unified solution. Daily activities will be deploying, automating, demonstrating, troubleshooting and documenting integrations.
Develop and integrate changes in multiple projects to troubleshoot, analyse bug root causes and provide resolutions.
Review and validate design, enhancement proposals and patches from other members.
Work with the quality engineering team (QE) to ensure effective test coverage.
Publicise the team's work through blogs, web postings, or conference talks.

What you will bring

Kubernetes and OpenShift technologies background is mandatory.
Experience with automation tools and/or scripting languages (Ansible, bash, go).
Experience with networking technology (server, switch or appliance configuration), key networking protocols, tunnelling technologies, switching, and routing.
Proficient in Linux operation and administration.
Familiarity with open source projects (git workflows) is a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficient with diagramming tools which enable you to visualise and talk through solutions to gather consensus on proposals.
Proficient with leveraging AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini, Cursor) to accelerate integration workflows through in‑depth research, summarising technical documentation and complex information, drafting effective communications, and boosting problem‑solving efficiency.
Experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Open vSwitch (OVS), and Open Virtual Network (OVN) – plus.
Experience with container related technologies (docker / podman, cri‑o, SR‑IOV).
Experience using, supporting, or troubleshooting various VNFs / CNFs.
Comfortable providing support and knowledge transfer for other teams as they onboard with new technologies that you are familiar with.
RHCE or equivalent RHEL knowledge.

Job Overview
The Senior Blockchain Engineer at Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP) must be a highly motivated and proactive hands‑on software engineer (Back End, Java Focus) and have a proven ability and experience working with web applications in production.
The successful candidate will be part of the core team continuing to build our Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP). Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering; MS or PhD in computer science, or related discipline a plus.
7 to 10 years of experience in full software development and testing lifecycle. Experience from financial services industry is a plus.
5 to 7 years of experience and expertise with Backend web development with Java spring.
1 to 3 years of experience in web3 application development is a plus.
1 to 3 years of experience and expertise developing web applications using asynchronous programming and communication.
Experience and expertise developing web applications adhering to best practices and patterns for reliability, scalability, and performance.
Familiarity with web3 libraries like Web3J and Web3JS is a plus.
Familiarity with common and best practices for web3 applications is a plus.
Familiarity of Solidity code and best practices is a plus.
Familiarity of basics of DevOps and containerize applications is a plus.
Familiarity of Agile Methodology and Scrum is a plus.

Competencies / Skills
