Job Description
A new role has recently come available with a company based in Cork City, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will support the Company Accountant in managing the company's financial processes and day-to-day running of the company accounts.

Role of this Position
* Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Manage Accounts Payable by processing supplier invoices, performing vendor reconciliations, and ensuring timely payments.
* Process Accounts Receivable by generating customer invoices, monitoring receivables, and following up on overdue accounts.
* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash records.
* Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries, and conduct account reconciliations.
* Review and process employee expense claims.
* Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial information and analysis.
* Prepare statutory reports, including VAT, VIES, Intrastat, PAYE, etc.
* Support annual audits.
* Support payroll on a monthly basis.
* Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Job Requirements
* 3+ years of experience in a similar Assistant Accountant/Senior Accounts Assistant role.
* Part-qualified accountant or Qualified Accounts Technician.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
