Pre-Opening Floor Manager – The Mercantile, Dublin City
We are delighted to announce the upcoming opening of The Mercantile Hotel in the heart of Dublin City and are seeking a passionate and experienced Floor Manager to join our pre-opening team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the operational foundations of a new hotel and play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of floor operations during the pre-opening phase, including recruitment, staff training, and the implementation of service procedures.
* Ensure smooth day-to-day running of all public areas, supporting the Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Front Office departments.
* Be a visible presence on the floor, responding to guest needs, resolving issues, and ensuring service excellence across all touchpoints.
* Monitor the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all guest-facing areas in line with hotel standards.
* Act as a liaison between departments to coordinate guest movements, group bookings, VIPs, and special events.
* Encourage and support a collaborative, guest-focused team culture through strong leadership and on-the-ground mentoring.
* Report maintenance issues, guest feedback, and operational concerns promptly and efficiently.
* Assist in developing and refining floor procedures that improve operational flow and enhance the guest experience.
* Uphold compliance with health & safety regulations, fire procedures, and internal policies at all times.
Requirements:
* At least two years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
* A genuine passion for delivering high-quality guest service.
* Strong leadership and people management skills with a hands-on approach to operations.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a flexible attitude to shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
