Reservations Agent – Full-Time
Specialized Travel Services is a Dublin & Cork based incoming Destination Management Company, specialising in FIT & group tours and excursions for cruise ship calls to Irish ports.
This is a full-time position, hybrid working with The Ward, Co Dublin or our Cork offices.
The ideal candidate should have very good knowledge of the geography of Ireland, attention to detail, very good computer skills and excellent customer service skills. They should have the ability to multi-task, be a fluent English speaker and have excellent written and verbal skills.
Experience in a similar position; hotel reservations, tour operator, or travel agency is essential as knowledge of the travel industry is required.
The main duties are:
* Assisting a busy team with day-to-day administrative duties, for the successful operation of the business and for ensuring deadlines are met.
* Making reservations: hotels, tour guides, coaches, visitor attractions and tour activities.
* Researching destinations, sourcing, and negotiating competitive rates with suppliers completing Tour costings & quotations.
* Planning and implementing travel itineraries.
* Use of company’s Reservation system & CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
* Liaising with clients & suppliers daily.
* Completing invoices to agents/clients.
* Preparation of travel documents.
* Monitoring incoming payments from agents/clients.
Requirements:
* Excellent knowledge of Ireland as a tourist destination.
* Work well under pressure and as a team player.
* Effective time management skills with an ability to prioritise work schedules.
* Highly motivated and ability to work on your own initiative.
* Excellent administration skills, organised, systematic, with great attention to detail.
* Able to multi-task and switch seamlessly from task to task.
* Computer literate, an advanced Microsoft Word/Excel user, knowledge of booking systems and CRM systems. Knowledge of the Tourplan booking system.
* Must be a fluent English speaker with excellent written and verbal skills.

Required education: Relevant qualifications in tourism or related field.
Required experience:
* 1 year - Hotel reservations, tour operator or travel agency: 1 year Minimum (required)
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday
Office hours are 09:00am-5.30pm Monday-Friday – * However flexibility is required on working hours, especially during the busy summer season & weekend & evening work may be required.
