An opportunity has arise for a National Development Competitions Coordinator to join the team.
The successful candidate will report directly to the GAA Participation and Programmes Manager and duties will include:
Principle Accountabilities
* Ensuring there is a meaningful and balanced games programme aligned to the GAA Player Pathway to meet the needs of players at - Child, Youth and Adult levels with specific responsibility for increasing games opportunities in hurling for clubs, counties in the designated Tin Region;
* Responsible for planning central coordination and execution of the following games programmes:
* Go Games;
* John West Feile;
* Super Games;
* Tin g League and C Chulainn Leagues;
* Talent Academy Games;
* Celtic Challenge;
* Minor Inter-County Competitions.
* Working with Cumann na mBunscol (Primary Schools), Comhairle larbhunscoileanna (Post-Primary Schools) and Comhairle Ard Oideachais (Higher Education) in development and provision of games opportunities focused on player retention on the youth phase of the GAA Player Pathway;
* Supporting the Comhairle larbhunscoileanna (Post-Primary Schools), Comhairle Ardoideachais (Higher Education) and respective 2nd and 3rd level structures to ensure the continued development of Gaelic Games in Universities and Colleges to include:
* Annual drafting of Fixtures for League and Championship;
* Appointment of venues and Referees for all Championship games and league knock out stages;
* Administration of discipline matters arising from games;
* Managing the registration, affiliation and permission to play forms;
* Administration of all incoming and outgoing monies - registration fees, grants, fines etc.;
* Sourcing and distribution of all medals and trophies;
* Co-ordinating major events such as Launches, Championship weekends, Draws, AGM etc.;
* Ensuring website is updated regularly with Fixtures and Results;
* Distributing All Ireland tickets to all units.
* Ensuring organisation of Annual Poc Fada and serving as Secretary of the National Poc Fada Committee;
* Acting as Servicing Officer to the GAA Development Competitions Control Committee with responsibility for managing appointment of referees and processing disciplinary matters;
* Monitoring the games programme at club level and the administration of applications for challenge games and tournaments, ensuring compliance in accordance with the GAA Official Guide and reporting monthly to the GAA Development Competitions Control Committee;
* Conducting an annual review/audit of club games programme at child and youth level to ensure alignment with policy and to assist and advise counties with formulation of games programmes, in collaboration with Provincial Councils
Requirements
* One year experience in a similar role.
* Experience managing, coordinating, or executing project plans, in person and online.
* Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to build and maintain long lasting business and team relationships.
* Experience of preparing and delivering high quality reports and presentations.
* Outstanding attention to detail, highly organised, and self-motivated.
* Experience of assessing priorities, managing multiple deadlines, and performing effectively in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
* Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills - confident communicator.
* Established IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office suite; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
* A strong understanding of the GAA
