Financial ControllerMalahide Golf Club, DublinMalahide Golf Club is one of Ireland’s premier member-owned clubs, renowned for its 27-hole championship course, vibrant membership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the course.We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to join our professional team. This is a pivotal leadership role, reporting directly to the General Manager, with responsibility for overseeing the full finance and accounting function of the Club.The ideal candidate will be fully competent in financial management within the hospitality or club sector, with the ability to drive process improvements and contribute to the strategic success of the business.Key Responsibilities:Preparation of monthly management accounts including balance sheet reconciliations with accompanying commentary and variance analysisSupervision of all day-to-day finance operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Income AuditLeading and developing the finance team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on timeEnsuring the timely delivery of high-standard financial reporting to management and relevant stakeholdersContinuous review and improvement of internal controls, including stock management, cash handling, and financial proceduresManage the annual Audit processDevelop and manage the annual operational and capital expenditure budgets in collaboration with General manager and Finance subcommittee.Handle all VAT, PAYE/PRSI and other taxes and liasing with Revenue when required.Supporting strategic and capital projects, and contributing to key decision-makingOther Ad hoc projects and roles associated with a Financial Controller role.Requirements:A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar), or working towards qualificationProven experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within a hospitality, club, or service-led environmentIn-depth knowledge of financial processes, reporting standards, and payroll systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Sage accounting software is a distinct advantageExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsStrong organisational and time-management abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detailA collaborative approach and commitment to delivering a high-quality member experienceAbility to lead or contribute to cross-functional project teamsWhat We Offer:A key leadership role within a forward-thinking and supportive management teamA dynamic working environment in a well-established and prestigious clubCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for continued professional developmentFlexible working week, 30 hrs per weekTo apply, please send a detailed CV and cover letter to Eddie Farrell, by 5 pm on Wednesday, 23rd April.Skills:Accounting responsibility Accounting management Balance Sheet Monthly Accounting Balance Sheet Management VAT reporting Payroll TaxesBenefits:Meal Allowance / Canteen Parking Flexitime
