Cognitive Support is a specialist autism and ADHD assessment provider, operating across Ireland and the UK. Our multidisciplinary team includes Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, working collaboratively to provide accurate, family-centred diagnostic services.
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Clinical Psychologists to conduct remote ADI-R assessments for children and young people referred for autism diagnostic assessments. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by reducing waiting times for families across Ireland.
As part of our dynamic team, you will work flexibly from home, conducting in-depth diagnostic interviews with parents and carers, and contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic reports. We offer guaranteed block bookings per month tailored to your availability.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct remote ADI-R assessments (via video consultation) with parents and carers of children and young people referred for autism assessment.
* Collaborate with other clinicians in the team (e.g., SLTs, OTs, Psychiatrists) to deliver holistic, multidisciplinary assessments.
* Contribute to diagnostic decision-making and report writing in line with NICE and HSE best practice guidelines.
* Ensure accurate, timely documentation of assessments and outcomes.
* Communicate sensitively and effectively with families, supporting them throughout the diagnostic process.
* Attend team meetings and supervision sessions as required.
Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) Registration as a Clinical Psychologist
Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience, including working with children and young people with autism and neurodevelopmental conditions
Skilled in delivering the ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised)
Strong understanding of autism, neurodiversity, and family-centred practice
Access to a private, quiet workspace with a reliable internet connection for remote assessments
Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting before commencing assessments
* Experience contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic teams
* Additional training in ADOS-2 (preferred but not essential)
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with a professional, family-friendly tone
* Empathetic, compassionate approach to working with families
