Electrical Utilities Technician Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in industrial utilities.

* The Utilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the availability of utilities equipment and responding to alarms and deviations in a timely manner.
* They operate and monitor site critical utilities systems, including pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems, and ancillary services.
* First-line and scheduled maintenance for utilities equipment, including preventive maintenance tasks, is also performed by this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure all utilities equipment is available at all times and respond to alarms and deviations promptly.
2. Operate and monitor site critical utilities systems, including pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems, and ancillary services.
3. Perform first-line and scheduled maintenance for utilities equipment, including preventive maintenance tasks.
4. Liaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenance and ensure that all work permits are reviewed and signed by relevant shift members.
5. Complete related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines.
6. Deliver delegated engineering tasks in accordance with good engineering practice and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

* A senior trades qualification or equivalent in electrical engineering is required.
* Minimum 2 years' experience post-qualification in industrial utilities, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
* Good initiative and proactive attitude in approach to duties.
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to accurately document work performed.
* Maintenance and operational experience of pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems, and ancillary services.
* Familiarity with Preventive Maintenance Systems and PLC/SCADA control systems.
* Computer literacy and ability to read and understand P&ID's.
* Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems, Basic Instrumentation, and Building Management Systems (BMC/QBMS/MCS/ECS/EMS).
