Senior Cost Manager (Public Sector)
We are working with a large Public Body to support a large-scale infrastructure project. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing project costs, overseeing contractor payments, and ensuring financial controls are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with contractual and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
* Conduct detailed cost estimation and financial modelling across project packages.
* Assist in financial planning, earned value analysis, and end-of-project forecasting.
* Track and manage project costs, including contractor payments and cost heads.
* Generate variance reports, projections, and strategic cost advice for stakeholders.
* Collaborate with workstream leads and the cost consultant for insights and performance monitoring.
* Support PMO team with cost updates and financial visibility.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's (Hons.) degree in Quantity Surveying, Finance, Cost Accounting, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in cost management/control within large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strong background in financial management, estimating, and cost reporting.
* Previous experience in a supervisory/project controls management role.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
* Knowledge of financial modelling, cost accounting, and project accounting.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
