Charity Shop Supervisor - Bray
The Irish Deaf Society is recruiting a part- time retail supervisor for it's shop in Bray Co Wicklow
The Irish Deaf Society is the national representative organisation of 5,000 Deaf and hard of hearing people whose first and preferred language is Irish Sign Language (ISL). Our mission is to fully achieve equality and rights of Deaf People in Ireland. Many of our services are funded and supported by our charity retail operations.
We are delighted to announce we are currently recruiting for our shop in Bray. We are looking for an enthusiastic, people focused shop supervisor who loves to work within the local community.
Hours : Flexible 20 hours a week, Monday to Saturday 9.30 am – 5.30 pm, no bank holidays
Term: Permanent part time contract subject to probation.
Salary : Negotiable, depending on experience, €13-€14 an hour
Starting Date : as soon as possible subject to notice and availability of successful candidate
Location: Primary workplace is the Irish Deaf Society Social Enterprise Shop, Main Street Bray, Co Wicklow

Role Description
Overview of the job
The Irish Deaf Society is recruiting for a part time Shop Supervisor for our new shop in Bray Co Wicklow. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service and making a difference in the local community The successful candidate will work with the Charity Shop Manager to ensure the smooth day to day running of the new shop.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Assist in the management and development of the shop in accordance with an agreed workplan and sales targets
2. Assist in training, supervising and managing shop staff, paid and voluntary
3. Ensue the shop is kept clean, safe, secure and tidy and adheres to brand standards
4. Assist in stock merchandising- preparing and pricing for sale and display
5. Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service
6. Cash handling, cash reconciliation, cash security and reporting to the IDS accounts department
7. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, motivation and staff & volunteer satisfaction
8. Promote IDS Awareness and Education campaigns within the shop
9. Undertake any other duties that may fall under the remit of Charity Shop Supervisor.
Personal Specification (Knowledge, Experience and Skill Set Required)
Essential
10. Retail supervision experience and /or charity retail experience
11. Experience handling cash and cash reconciliation
12. Excellent sales techniques and ability to meet sales targets
13. Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to motivate a diverse team
14. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
15. Respect for Deaf culture and a willingness to learn/ interest in Irish Sign Language
Desirable
16. A retail qualification
17. Good general IT skills and proficient in MS Office
18. Visual merchandising experience
