We are seeking a Researcher to join Ireland AM, Ireland’s flagship breakfast TV program broadcasting three hours daily, 21 hours weekly. The researcher will work closely with producers and presenters to deliver high-quality content, demonstrate creativity, initiative, editorial judgment, and a strong understanding of compelling television.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sourcing guests and reacting to breaking news
* Interviewing and preparing notes for guest appearances
* Writing scripts based on guest notes
* Editing VTs and broadcast footage
* Producing location shoots and managing live OBs
* Sourcing and clearing footage and images
* Managing guest schedules and expectations
* Updating social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter
* Collaborating with producers and presenters on show development
* Generating new series ideas
* Managing live audience interactions when required
Desired Skills & Experience:
* Approximately two years of television production experience (desirable)
* Strong journalism background
* Extensive contacts book
* Creative ideas and enthusiasm
* Excellent planning and organizational skills
* Ability to write concise background briefs for presenters
* Interest in current affairs and Irish life
* Proficiency in computer skills, including editing VT content
* Understanding of what makes good television
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy team environment
