YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a Laboratory General Operative in Athgarvan Road,, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Newbridge W12W951 IRL. Your mission will be to:
Ensure that the microbiology laboratory has sufficient stock of quality-controlled media in order to process samples effectively.
* Organisation, preparation and quality control of media, to ensure sufficient stocks are in place for the microbiology laboratory
* Ensure media is prepared according to specification and that the required checks are carried out
* Support the day-to-day implementation of the ALT-MxNS Quality Management System ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, INAB, DAFM, RSA & MxNS requirements
* Perform work as allocated by laboratory/operations manager to the high standards of quality required and to inform laboratory/operations manager in case of any issues with equipment/resources or materials
* Ensure that media is identified when it was received and when it was opened
* Ensure that additional stock of media, reagents and consumables are placed on order with the purchasing team when necessary
* Ensure that all areas are kept tidy
* Conform with all safety and quality systems
* Carry out monthly stock checks
YOUR PROFILE
* A minimum of two years of experience working within a fast-paced environment
* Experience of working within a laboratory is a distinct advantage
* Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach to work/tasks
* Proficient in Google Suite with a strong aptitude for learning new software
* Team player with the ability to work on your own initiative
* Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter
