Overview AWS is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (Cx E) is part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling challenging problems building and supporting the operations of AWS-owned data centres and Colocation facilities.
The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) defines and manages construction quality to meet customer requirements in accordance with engineering designs.
Responsibilities
Support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems such as:
Medium and low voltage power systems
Generators
UPS
HVAC
Chilled Water Systems
Building Management systems (BMS)
Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
Testing and balancing
Pumps and Hydronic systems
The Cx E provides multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design, and project planning.
The Cx E reviews component submittal packages, leads Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and performs system-level and integrated system testing.
During commissioning, the Cx E audits activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
The individual is responsible for comprehensive weekly reporting of status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned to continually improve the quality of our program.
This position includes coverage of multiple inflight projects.

The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization.
This team includes Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators and seasoned Amazonians who provide detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices.
We focus on rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining transparency, recording metrics of issues pre-PFHO, and identifying opportunities for peers and customers.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning-specific education courses
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
