Motor Engineer roles involve carrying out motor inspections and damage evaluations, dealing with all aspects of both Insured and third-party motor claims, using appropriate technology to receive and audit estimates prior to agreeing repairs in the approved repairer network as well as customer-nominated repairers.
You will prepare detailed reports on findings, costs, and recommended settlements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
You will support the increase of the desktop/Image inspection rate.
You will contribute to and carry out audits and reviews as required to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment, presenting trends back to business to help strategies and market understanding.
You will be in constant contact with our approved repairers monitoring the performance, recognising potential areas of improvement and relationship building, and delivering excellent standards to drive great outcomes for our customers.
You will spend most of your time reviewing and assessing claims, liaising with customers, internal colleagues and suppliers, providing support, advice and guidance and contributing to policy and product development.
This role will be both desk based and in the field dealing with repairers and customers/third parties on a one to one basis, although you will also work with other colleagues and be part of a team.
You will have strong communication, negotiation and organisation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing relevant damage vehicle situations to support achievement of optimum and fair settlement outcomes, within designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
Organising and using approved evaution tools effectively review adjust and agree repair costs or write off (incl salvage) valuations at an appropriate and cost effective level.
Assessing claims against relevent criteria and experience to identify actual or potential issues and involving others as appropriate in order to minimise leakage and protect the interests of the business.
Helping and contributing towards the development of less experienced collegues to raise standards and expertise across the team.
Leading, contributing to and co-operating with audits and reviews as required in order to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.
>Providing proactive advice and guidance on the development of new and improved policy wordings to ensure policy documentation reflects claims experience and agreed risk appetite.
Contributing to the identification of and research into new product and proposition development opportunities to ensure the claims components are feasible and appropriate to the target customer
Requirements
5 years + experience in a relevant role
Hold or working towards IAEA Membership
Motor Claims knowledge including a basic understanding of insurance principles
Good working knowledge of computerised damage estimating systems, including Audatex.
A motor related trade qualification
Good spoken and written communication skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and where required be able to use own initiative.
PC literate with good administrative skills
Ability to take the initiative and responsibility when necessary
Full Clean Driver's Licence
Regulatory Requirements
If this role is defined as a "controlled function" by the Central Bank Reform Act **** Regulations ****.
