Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

Permanent, Full-time position (with the option of a 12-month FTC if preferred)
Salary €30,000-€40,000 commensurate with experience
At AllPets Veterinary Hospital, we’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our busy, friendly hospital team in Drogheda. This is a permanent role, but if a fixed-term contract better suits your circumstances, we’d be happy to discuss a 12-month FTC option.
This is a brilliant opportunity for both newly qualified nurses and those with some experience under their belt. We have the right support in place to help you grow in confidence and develop your skills, alongside opportunities for progression and fully funded postgraduate studies if you’d like to pursue them.
Responsibilities
* You’ll be part of a well-established nursing team, working across consultations, surgical and theatre nursing, inpatient care, pharmacy and laboratory work, and client support. In short, you’ll have the chance to use the full range of your nursing skills every day.
* The rota is full-time (37.5hrs over 5 days) with weekends on a 1 in 6 basis, but no overnight work.
Who we’re looking for
* You’ll need to be registered (or eligible to register in 2025) with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
* Experience in small animal practice is a bonus, but not essential – we welcome new graduates and can provide tailored support, including a clinical coach.
* What matters most is your enthusiasm, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to providing great patient care as part of a team.

Our hospital is home to 7 vets, 8 nurses, 3 ACAs, plus a supportive management and client care team. Many of our vets and nurses hold advanced certificates, and we encourage ongoing professional development with funded CPD, certificates, diplomas, or even PhDs. The hospital is fully equipped with digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood analysers, and separate cat and dog consult areas. We’re proud to be ISFM Gold Cat Friendly accredited and to offer referral services in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography.
