Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading residential developer on a large-scale project in Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality residential developments and play a key role in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of Health & Safety management on site
Review and comment on design drawings, raising RFIs where required
Actively participate in Design Team Meetings, ensuring timely resolution of design issues
Communicate approved technical submittals to site teams and subcontractors
Monitor project programme, providing weekly updates and proactively addressing delays
Coordinate subcontractors and service providers to meet testing and commissioning deadlines
Oversee quality control of subcontractor works and materials
Ensure all works comply with Building Regulations, design specifications and relevant standards
Carry out continuous site inspections, identifying and resolving issues efficiently
Lead quality assurance processes, including technical submittals, benchmarks and inspections
Drive BCAR compliance and manage documentation systems
Coordinate site drawings and maintain accurate records and QA documentation
Manage work packages, including, Input into tender packages, monitoring subcontractor programmes, Ordering materials & Coordinating trades and resolving site issues
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
Liaise with third-party stakeholders such as Uisce Éireann, ESB Networks and local authorities
Lead and mentor junior engineers, supporting their development
Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
5+ years’ experience working as a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
Strong experience managing residential construction projects from groundworks through to completion.
Excellent knowledge of reinforced concrete frame construction, drainage, utilities, roads and finishing works.
Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors, design teams and site operations within live construction environments.
Strong understanding of BCAR, Irish building regulations and quality assurance procedures.
