Join our collaborative team, innovating for smarter, greener cities globally.What you will doWe are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Traffic Technician / Electrician to join our Dublin field operations team.This is a hands on, shift based role working within a fast paced operational environment, supporting the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) infrastructure across the road network.You will play a key role in maintaining safety critical roadside and motorway technology, responding to faults and reactive call outs, carrying out planned maintenance activities, and supporting the successful delivery of new installations. The role requires a strong electrical background, excellent fault finding ability, and a proactive approach to problem solving.Working as part of a close knit operational team, you will help ensure vital transport infrastructure remains safe, operational, and compliant while maintaining high standards of workmanship, customer service, and safety.Key responsibilities include:Installing and maintaining ITS equipment to a high standardCompleting planned maintenance activities, inspections, and electrical testingResponding to fault reports and reactive call outs within contractual KPI timescalesDiagnosing and resolving faults across roadside and ITS infrastructureSupporting the installation and commissioning of new project worksEnsuring all fault records and maintenance data are accurately recorded within management systemsProviding technical support and guidance to customers, trainees, and apprenticesLiaising professionally with customers, managers, and operational teamsCompleting project paperwork, timesheets, and associated documentation accurately and on timeEnsuring company vehicles, tools, equipment, and PPE are maintained in a safe and serviceable conditionFollowing all company Quality, Health & Safety, Security and Environmental procedures at all timesSupporting the development of apprentices and junior team membersOn a day-to-day basis, you will:Work outdoors on live roadside and motorway infrastructureCarry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair activitiesAttend reactive call outs and emergency faults within agreed response timesWork safely at heights and within live traffic environmentsSupport installation and commissioning activities on new ITS infrastructureEnsure RAMS and safe working practices are followed at all timesWork collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and operational teamsAssist in achieving maintenance KPIs and operational targetsAttend training courses and toolbox talks to support ongoing professional developmentWhat we are looking forDepartment of Education Leaving CertificateNational Craft Certificate (Electrical) and/or equivalent qualificationFull driving licenceStrong electrical fault finding and problem solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work at heights and within live roadside environmentsFlexible approach to shift work, standby, and callout rotasStrong safety awareness and commitment to safe working practicesProactive and solutions focused mindsetAdaptable approach with willingness to learn and take on new challengesSOLAS Safe PassExperience in a similar role or within the traffic industryUnderstanding of ITS equipment installation and associated theoryElectrical / Electronic Engineering backgroundExperience within electrical engineering, controls, instrumentation, or communications systemsExperience working on roadside infrastructure and associated Health & Safety proceduresIT skills and understanding of IP network configurationFull C driving licenceCSCS Signing, Lighting & Guarding at RoadworksCSCS Location of Underground ServicesWhat we offerAs well as providing a competitive salary and benefits package, SWARCO actively runs employee opinion surveys as part of our drive to provide a comfortable and supportive working environment.We are committed to supporting the ongoing development of our employees and creating long term career opportunities within the business.You will also receive:Competitive salary of €53,000 - €58,000Structured training and development opportunitiesOpportunity to work within a specialist ITS and transport technology environmentSupportive team culture and collaborative working environmentCompany PPE, tools, and equipmentCareer progression opportunities within SWARCOShift PatternMonday to Thursday: 17:30 - 02:00Friday: 17:30 - 01:00We have a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in Ireland, therefore successful candidates must have the right to work in Ireland by the start of their employment.
