About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Domestic Transport Planner / Logistics Administrator to join our growing logistics team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with transport planning, warehousing, or supply chain experience to further develop their career within a dynamic organisation operating across Ireland, the UK, and international markets.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating transport operations, managing customer requirements, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process import manifests, transport bookings, and associated documentation accurately and within agreed timelines.
Coordinate customer deliveries to ensure service requirements are met in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Manage operational files, billing, and costing processes in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor customer orders and proactively communicate updates, delays, or exceptions.
Liaise with customers, carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to resolve operational issues and discrepancies.
Prepare and distribute delivery, operational, and performance reports as required.
Maintain accurate records and perform administrative duties, including data entry and reporting.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with additional operational projects as required.
Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional team environment.
Skills & Experience
A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a transport planning, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain role.
Strong IT and systems skills, including experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
Knowledge of the logistics, transport, or freight forwarding industry.
Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering high levels of customer service.
