Accounts Assistant
This is a challenging opportunity to support the finance team in an expanding organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Record all bank transactions and perform regular reconciliations of cash accounts with statements from banks.
2. Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management review, detailing key performance indicators and highlighting areas for improvement.
3. Process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring timely payment of suppliers and debtors while maintaining accurate records.
4. Manage intercompany invoicing and reconcile debtor and creditor balances to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
5. Prepare quarterly management accounts, including detailed analysis and commentary on variances against budget and actuals.
6. Provide monthly variance analysis against actual results, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement.
7. Support the preparation of annual financial statements and assist with external audits as required, maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.
8. Prepare and submit VAT and PAYE returns in accordance with regulatory deadlines, ensuring timely submission and minimizing penalties.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar industry or sector.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
