A unique opportunity for volunteers to contribute to the future of palliative care services.
The All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care is offering this unique opportunity for members of the public to help shape the future of palliative care services across the island of Ireland.
Who can join
People with an interest in both adult and children's palliative care
Carers or former carers of people with palliative care needs
People with a life limiting illness / palliative care needs
Opportunities for Voices4Care
Sharing your voice and perspective on palliative care services across the island of Ireland
Helping to identify areas for research and advising researchers with their projects
Contributing to the development of palliative care policy, for example by joining steering committees
Giving your views on education programmes, including feedback on training materials or courses
What we expect from Voices4Care members
Be willing to be involved for up to 24 months, recognising that it may not always be possible to commit for the full period
Be open to taking part in online or in-person meetings on topics or areas that interest you
Understand that this is a voluntary role.
Out of pocket expenses related to involvement will be covered in line with our policies
Be open to connecting, sharing, and learning with and from other volunteers
For those who may have been recently bereaved, we suggest taking some time before applying.
Many people find that waiting around 12 months allows space to reflect and decide if involvement feels right.

Waterford Volunteer Centre opportunities
Waterford Volunteer Centre is seeking volunteers to join us at different events throughout the year.
If you want to be part of spreading the word about volunteering and its many benefits, we need your help.
Your involvement with Waterford Volunteer Centre as event support is crucial to the success of the center, which supports both volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations.
Waterford Volunteer Centre both hosts and attends many events from volunteer fairs, roadshows, information evenings, training sessions, and more.
What we need from you
Welcome visitors to our information stands
Provide basic information about Waterford Volunteer Centre and its services
Help those interested to find printed materials or online resources about volunteering in Waterford City & County
Communicate with visitors, spreading the key benefits of volunteering
We will provide you with all the necessary materials and support in this role.
Where possible, you will be paired with another volunteer.
