Lead Process Engineer – Dublin

Key Responsibilities
Shape Project Success: Participate in proposal, pricing, and business development activities, including scoping new projects and defining process engineering deliverables in collaboration with clients and project teams, ensuring alignment with requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Lead with Expertise: Oversee and lead the implementation of process designs, taking full ownership for driving the entire process project to successful completion.
Ensure all technical and safety aspects of deliverables (including PFDs, P&IDs, process reports, calculations, utility sizing, and equipment specifications) are delivered on time, within budget and schedule, and to the required quality standards.
Manage technical approvals at project milestones and provide support to the process project team to achieve project objectives.
Manage Change and Controls: Prepare, manage, and communicate process project change by assessing and implementing modifications to project scope, schedule, or budget; document all impacts, mitigate risks, and ensure project delivery commitments are maintained.
Client Success: Engage with clients on process-related matters to build strong, collaborative professional relationships and support the development of future projects and opportunities.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, other Arcadis offices, clients/end users, and equipment suppliers to coordinate and integrate process inputs and deliverables throughout the design process.
Uphold Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant local, international, and client-specific codes and standards.
Drive Safety and Quality: Represent and lead process design in PHAs, HAZOPs, design reviews, and peer reviews while maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance.
Innovate and Improve: Identify and implement process technologies and improvement techniques, encouraging an environment of continuous learning and development within the engineering team and supporting the consistent delivery of successful project outcomes.
Empower Teams: Mentor, support, and inspire a diverse team of professionals to achieve project goals and personal growth.
Skills & Experience Required
Education: A higher technical degree in Industrial, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
Leadership Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience as a process engineer in design consultancy or Food/Pharmaceuticals/GMP manufacturing environments, including experience as a Design Process Lead on projects.
Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines, A&E teams, vendors, and system owners.
Problem-Solving: Advanced decision-making and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex challenges.
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office and process-related software, with excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
Team Leadership: Ability to build, lead, develop, and inspire a team of professionals to reach their full potential.
Nice-to-Have
Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or life science industries, with the ability to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the global organisation.
Process Safety Leadership: Proven expertise in process safety within the pharmaceutical or life science industries, with experience serving as a PHA/HAZOP chair.
