DescriptionCowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Healthcare Assistant for its Nursing Home - St Patrick's Care Centre, Baldoyle, Dublin 13.Purpose:To provide quality person centred care to our residents that is both efficient and effective.The Health Care Assistant will:Maximise the independence of the resident. Provide support to the resident to achieve the highest possible quality of Life. Afford every opportunity to the resident to live and die with dignity.Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their equality and dignity at all times.Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager e.g. washing, toileting, dressing, and undressing, dining and all other aspects of daily living.Contribute to a range of social, recreational and educational activities aimed at providing a stimulating environment for the residents.Maximise the emotional and physical comfort of residents.Participate in care delivery as outlined in the resident's care plan, reporting any changes observed in a resident's physical or mental state.Contribute to maintaining a safe environment for the residents, staff and visitors.Engage in the serving of resident meals with an awareness of their dietary needs and assistance required.RequirementsExperience in a nursing home environment or relevant experienceStrong written and spoken EnglishDesirable: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare SupportKnowledge of and experience in dementia careRewardsLoyalty ProgrammeDeath in Service benefitCareer advancement opportunities & educational assistance availableSubsidized mealsReimbursement for uniformGarda Vetting and Police Clearance will be required for the successful applicant.Applicants must submit a detailed CV outlining all relevant experience/training to date.This is a Full-time position - 39 hours per week.Cowper Care is an equal opportunities employer
