Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a major power generation project. The role will focus on the upgrade and commissioning of legacy and modern control systems, including boiler protection and burner management systems, within large-scale thermal generation units.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, manage interfaces between internal teams and contractors, and play a lead role in testing, commissioning, and acceptance of systems.
* Ensure all works are executed in line with statutory safety, health, and environmental standards.
* Provide technical leadership on engineering and commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), loop checks, function tests, and protection testing.
* Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities on site, ensuring compliance with project scope, quality, and safety requirements.
* Manage technical clarifications, documentation, and correspondence with contractors and consultants.
* Support project planning, scheduling, and cost control in alignment with technical requirements.
* Liaise with project managers, engineering teams, and site management to ensure successful delivery.
* Prepare reports, test protocols, inspection reviews, and close-out documentation.
Required Experience & Skills:
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in control systems engineering and commissioning, particularly in the power generation industry.
* Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience in power generation or comparable heavy industry.
* Strong expertise in plant control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS)/Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), instrumentation, safety/protection systems, and control networks.
* Proven track record in commissioning large-scale or complex control systems projects.
* Experience with plant operations, maintenance procedures, and industrial safety standards.
* Strong stakeholder management, reporting, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and related tools.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel nationally/internationally as required.
