Role Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will provide strategic and commercial leadership for a high-performing sales organisation. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver innovation, capture long-term market value, and shape the company's trajectory. The role demands vision, market foresight, and the ability to build and lead a motivated team in a dynamic sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute robust sales strategies aligned with company objectives and direction.
• Lead, coach and manage a high-performing sales team, setting and monitoring individual and team performance metrics.
• Using our extensive internal sales data, drive sales growth across different categories and merchants through Gap Analysis techniques, manage margins and thereby optimising revenue within the division.
• Foster and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, monitor competitor activity, and inform pricing and product strategies.
• Identify and pursue new market segments and business development opportunities, including sourcing new product categories with the procurement team.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, supply chain, and sales operations. Prepare and deliver accurate KPI sales reports and revenue forecasts to senior management.
• Support organisational transformation and future-proof the sales function.
Required Skills and Experience
• Proven leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and guide sales teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for building client relationships and internal coordination.
• Deep understanding of modern sales processes, including lead generation, negotiation, and closing techniques.
• Strong analytical and IT skills to interpret sales data and make timely and informed strategy decisions.
• Minimum 8 years in senior B2B sales leadership roles, ideally within technical or industrial sectors, with a track record of driving double-digit growth or leading successful business transformation.
• Notable achievements in margin management, strategic planning, and market expansion.
