Job Summary
This role is a key support function for the Medical Workforce Manager, requiring operational management and day-to-day operations of the Medical Workforce Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs).
* Work closely with the Medical Workforce Manager and Medical HR Team to lead NCHDs and represent them effectively.
* Assist the Medical Workforce Manager with specific responsibilities for key functions in the Medical Workforce function.
* Manage Medical Rosters and provide locums as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification in Human Resources or a suitable alternative, and be familiar with employment law and relevant Hospital and HSE policies. They should also possess strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills, with the ability to work to set deadlines and prioritise tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management of the Medical Workforce Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors (NCHDs)
* Day-to-day operations of the NCHDs
* Management of the NCHD Recruitment process, including identifying vacancies, facilitating interviews, maintaining databases, compliance, and payroll setup
* Update national databases in real-time using NDTP-DIME systems
* Monitor and manage compliance certificates for NCHDs on NER
* Information management within the department
* Respond to enquiries from NCHDs and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner or escalate issues when necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Third-level qualification in Human Resources or a suitable alternative
* Familiarity with employment law and relevant Hospital and HSE policies
* Strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills
* Ability to work to set deadlines and prioritise tasks
Experienced in data entry and reporting is a distinct advantage. Excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and PC proficiency essential MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) are also required. A responsible team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills is needed.
