This is an exciting opportunity to support the Executive Head Chef in delivering a high standard of food and service, while contributing to the ongoing success of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen management Maintain gross profit margins and control wage costs to meet budget Oversee daily food ordering and ensure stock rotation Prepare weekly staff rosters efficiently Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and hygiene Maintain excellent standards in food quality, presentation, and service during all shifts Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen Support in menu planning and supplier selection Promote a positive, team-oriented environment Enforce and follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards Provide excellent customer service and handle any food-related queries or complaints professionally Assist with cross-department collaboration when necessary Requirements: Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role within a busy kitchen Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team Excellent understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends High standards of personal hygiene and professionalism Benefits: Competitive salary Supportive team environment Opportunities for career development and progression Staff meals provided during shift If you're passionate about food, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and are ready for the next step in your culinary career, we'd love to hear from you.
