Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The business is complex and ambitious, with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties. The Group has modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 6 locations on a cross-border basis, supplying a broad customer base including some of the world’s leading companies in dairy food ingredients, foodservice, and consumer food channels across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and globally. The Group exports approximately 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide.
The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and provides high-quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef, and sheep farmers across Ireland. We are seeking applications for the position of Process Engineer at our Killeshandra Site, Co Cavan.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and the Site Manager, you will focus on improving manufacturing processes and systems to achieve operational excellence. As a Process Engineer, your role will involve making manufacturing processes more reliable, stable, and capable, leading to measurable improvements in machine reliability, quality, and responsiveness. Demonstrating technical mastery, you will challenge current practices and develop new work processes to deliver sustainable operational breakthroughs.
The Person
* Will train and become an expert in core dairy processing and packing operations at the Killeshandra site.
* Master Reliability engineering methodologies and tools to enhance process reliability and reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
* Implement and maintain Daily Management Systems to ensure key process results are achieved and sustained.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels, with a strong aptitude for problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and decisiveness under pressure.
* Qualifications in Engineering or Food Science, IOSH Managing Safely certification, experience with continuous improvement tools, and Dairy/UHT/Food manufacturing experience are desirable.
