General Function
Moog is currently seeking a Product Engineering Manager, who will report directly to the Senior Product Engineering Manager for Moog Commercial Aircraft Group OE & AM (CAG).
The Post Holder will manage the functions of the Product Engineering Group containing a group of engineers which provide engineering support for the Commercial Aircraft Sector's programs on site at the Moog MRO Facility in Dublin, Ireland.
The engineering function supports the Moog MRO quality, delivery, and cost objectives by:
Being responsible for NPD process in alignment with strategic growth
Maintaining product integrity to support production delivery to meet the needs of our customers
Identifying and facilitating the implementation of improvements within the business
The post holder will be the engineering representative on the Moog MRO leadership team and the Form 4 holder for Moog MRO Services.
The post holder will be a conduit between the engineering resources at Moog MRO and the technical CAG resources globally.
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelors Degree in a Science and/or Engineering discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
Individuals must demonstrate proven technical expertise in the repair and overhaul of aircraft hardware, with a specific focus on fuel-engine accessories, precision hydraulic components, or other related technologies.
Preferred is a good awareness of aircraft engine technology, up-to-date with market trends, a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, and proficiency in Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer, and Data Acquisition and Analysis.
Strong mentoring and leadership abilities, as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills, are required.
Nature And Scope Of The Position
Reporting to Product Engineers, Engineering Technicians, Technical Library Administration, the post holder will:
Provide proactive day-to-day engineering support to production assembly and test areas by resolving issues, maintaining product integrity, and influencing product cost.
Develop repair capability for Moog and 3rd party products within the framework of customer contracts and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc.).
Initiate clear production assembly/test instructions to operations personnel to maintain efficient production.
Take responsibility for ensuring issues impacting quality, cost, and delivery performance are identified and addressed promptly.
Define and schedule the development of equipment to meet production requirements for operations department, e.g., assembly fixtures, tools, and test equipment.
Provide support to other departments to maintain and improve product quality, first-pass yield (FPY), production schedule, and product cost objectives.
Utilize common or develop unique repair processes to reduce turnaround time (TAT) and repair costs for out-of-or in-production repair or replacement parts.
Work within a team environment and utilize lean principles to incorporate world-class repair processes into regional (global) commercial repair shops.
Willingness to travel is required.
Accountabilities
Organize, allocate, direct, and motivate resources to provide engineering support consistent with company objectives.
Coordinate with site leadership and shop supervisory staff to ensure successful fulfillment of shipping commitments.
Assure and maintain product integrity and quality in production products in collaboration with other Moog resources.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to align objectives with long-term strategy.
Ensure direct reports have objectives that help the business achieve strategic objectives and grow.
Provide ongoing direct technical support to the engineering group.
Identify opportunities to develop talent through regular appraisals.
Support coordination of site initiatives such as lean and process improvement activities.
Define budgetary needs (capital and personnel) required to support the product engineering tasks.
Assure acceptance and practice of fundamental safety principles by employees and management.
Represent the business on engineering matters to external organizations, such as customers and suppliers.
