LimerickJob Overview:As a Stud Farm Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of a Thoroughbred breeding farm, ensuring the highest standards of horse care and the success of breeding and foaling programs. You will report directly to the owners and manage all aspects of farm operations, horse welfare, breeding, and staff.Key Responsibilities:A. Breeding & Foaling ManagementManage the Thoroughbred breeding program, including natural covering, scanning, and foaling.Collaborate with veterinarians to optimize conception and foaling rates.Supervise foaling, ensuring expert care for mares and foals.Maintain accurate breeding, foaling, and progeny records.B. Horse Care & Youngstock DevelopmentEnsure the welfare of mares, foals, yearlings, and stallions.Oversee daily routines (feeding, grooming, health monitoring).Coordinate veterinary, farrier, and nutrition care.Supervise weaning and early training of foals and yearlings.Manage sales preparation for yearlings and foals.C. Farm Operations & MaintenanceOversee facility upkeep, including paddocks, fencing, and equipment.Manage feed and bedding procurement, pasture care, and land management.Ensure safety, biosecurity, and maintenance of infrastructure.D. Staff Management & LeadershipLead, train, and motivate a team of grooms and seasonal staff.Create work schedules and delegate tasks effectively.Foster a positive and safe working environment.E.
