Trade Counter Sales Assistant
My client, a well-established supplier of building materials, hardware, and DIY products in the West of Ireland, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join their busy branch in Claremorris.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in the trade and retail industry, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with hands-on training and support for long-term career development. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining stock levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve customers at the trade counter, providing advice, quotations, and product information.
2. Handle customer enquiries in person, by phone, and via email in a professional manner.
3. Support store operations, including merchandising and stock replenishment.
4. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
5. Work as part of a team to achieve sales targets and branch objectives.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
6. Provide outstanding customer service to both trade and retail clients.
7. Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
8. Assist with deliveries and ensure proper storage of goods.
9. Stay up to date with product knowledge and promotional activity.
10. Support the team with stock control and inventory checks.
11. Flexibility to work a six-day rota, including Saturdays.
