Opportunity:
Working as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist in Substance Misuse you will be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in your clinical charge, with the service to be as community-orientated as possible.
Duration - 12-24 month contract with a view to go permanent
You will be required to provide clinical and process development leadership within the service to tackle a broad range of service user's issues related to substance use, including: motivation, harm reduction, stabilisation, detoxification, relapse prevention, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and phobias, loss, coping with illness, abuse, developmental issues, adjustment problems, stress, trauma, violence, anger, and psychosexual difficulties, drawing on therapeutic orientations such as person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapies.

7. Basic Salary scale between € 224,437- € 269,594 in accordance with the HSE 2023 Consultant contract

Essential Criteria
16. Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for Specialist Registration
17. UK and EEA candidates with Specialist Registration in Psychiatry can apply
18. 5 - 10 years' relevant experience post-graduation
19. Possesses a detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant specialist domain: Substance Misuse
Location: Cork
