Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a BI Developer and Analyst.
Reporting to the Chief Data Solutions Architect the successful candidate will be working in the Patient Administration Project Team (PAS) department.
This role will initially be based fully onsite for the onboarding period and then be changing to a hybrid model with 3 days off site and 2 days onsite based in Dublin 8.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and paid an hourly rate of €*****, this is based off an annualised salary of € 60,******.
As this is a temporary position, the expected end date is the end of October ****.
This position also offers 30 days annual leave per year and paid bank holidays.
Purpose of the role: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, enabling the ingestion, transformation, and orchestration of data across SQL Server, and Power BI environments.
The role ensures that data is accessible, reliable, and performant, supporting analytics and decision-making across the hospital.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Data Engineering: Ad hoc SQL Operational Queries: Create and supply ad hoc reports for end users in a migrated state, identify end user data requests based on historic asks.
SQL Queries Development: Develop SQL queries for data analysis purposes, enhancing reporting capabilities for users.
SQL Daily Jobs Management: Design and replace SQL jobs for the data warehouse (including ETL packages).
Investigate, correct, and create new jobs as necessary.
Database Administration: database consistency checks and resizing exercises, raise tickets for adjustments.
Project Work: Write stored procedures and create tables and views in SQL for Power BI reports.
Reporting Services: Report Migration: Migrate tabular model reports to Power BI from scratch.
Power BI Reports: Create Power BI reports using DAX for end users.
Must have Skills: Design and implement robust data pipelines using ODBC Connections and SSIS Pipelines and the ability to rebuild Power BI Semantic Models.
Proficiency in SQL, Power BI and SSIS packages, Optimize SQL queries for performance and cost efficiency.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics and reporting needs.
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all stages of the pipeline lifecycle.
Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, Stored Procedures, triggers and process mapping.
Familiarity with Teams, Jira, and Confluence for collaboration and reporting.
Experience in Project and Stakeholder Management.
Ability to work on own initiative.

Academic/Professional Qualifications and/or Relevant Experience: Required: Candidates must have at the latest date of application: Have not less than three years satisfactory experience in an administrative capacity within the Technology or Public Sector / Hospital / Health Care environment relevant to the role.
Possess sufficient administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the grade.
Minimum of Level 8 degree (Honours Bachelor's Degree) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Desirable: Experience with model lifecycle management and inference orchestration in production environments.
Previous experience with hospital clinical systems in an acute healthcare environment Safeguarding & Patient Interaction Responsibilities The post holder will regularly access clinical areas for the purposes of system implementation, workflow mapping, testing, and staff training.
This will involve direct interaction with patients, including vulnerable adults and, where applicable, children, as part of observing, validating, and supporting patient care-related processes.
The role requires the post holder to be present in live clinical environments while patient care is actively being delivered.
Regular and necessary access to patients and vulnerable persons is an integral component of the role in order to validate real-time clinical workflows, support staff in live care settings during system go-live phases and troubleshoot system issues that directly impact patient care delivery.
