About the Role

At Barna & Moycullen Vets, we're looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our close‑knit, friendly team. Whether you're seeking to broaden your clinical experience in a supportive environment or looking for a change of pace in one of Ireland's most scenic regions, this role offers the best of both worlds – professional challenge and a quality lifestyle.
What Is Expected
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term contract (minimum 7 months, with potential to extend depending on practice needs). You'll work a 36‑hour week over four days, including 1 in 4 Saturday rota, two on‑call week‑night shifts per month, and 5‑6 weekends per year (including one bank holiday).
Day‑to‑day, you'll enjoy a varied caseload including consultations, diagnostics, surgery, and emergency care. You'll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team who value both clinical excellence and a warm, community‑driven approach to practice.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you're a VCI‑registered Veterinary surgeon with at least 12 months' general practice experience, confident in routine surgeries and first‑opinion work.
* Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
* Confidence managing cases independently, including sole charge when needed
* Excellent communication and teamwork
* A genuine passion for animal welfare and client care
