Job Summary
The School Nurse will provide health services to students within the school system, adhering to the accepted Standards of School Nursing Practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide direct student care, including first aid, administering medication, and conducting health appraisals.
* Maintain aseptic techniques when preparing medications and administer them according to policies and guidelines.
* Monitor equipment, supplies, and materials for the school health clinic and maintain security of school health supplies and materials.
* Prepare health reports for supervisors, boards, and departments as required.
* Provide resources and training on health and safety issues to school personnel.
* Maintain confidentiality of students' health information.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the school nurse supervisor.
Requirements:
* Possess a valid current license to practice nursing in the State of Alabama.
* Graduated from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
* Earned an associate degree and possess current CPR certification.
