This role directs multiple operational groups focused on detecting, analysing, and responding to threats that could impact critical systems, services, and data.
Role Overview You will provide daily leadership and coordination across key defensive areas such as: External and internal threat response Attack surface reduction and vulnerability oversight Threat intelligence development and consumption Readiness and alignment across security and partner teams Detection engineering, monitoring operations, and automation initiatives Key Responsibilities Direct teams responsible for real-time threat detection, log analytics, telemetry engineering, and response workflows Oversee development and tuning of SIEM/SOAR pipelines, detection logic, automation, and security telemetry ingestion Manage attack-surface reduction efforts, vulnerability intake, prioritisation, and cross-team remediation coordination Integrate cyber threat intelligence into detections, hunting workflows, and operational decision-making Lead operational readiness, runbooks, instrumentation improvements, and incident command escalation paths Guide analyst performance, workload allocation, and technical upskilling Requirements 5+ years in security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, or detection engineering Strong understanding of detection methodologies (behavioural analytics, signatures, anomaly detection, threat modelling) Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, log pipelines, and security automation Knowledge of adversary tradecraft, MITRE ATT
