We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our Dispense team.

The Operations Manager holds a critical leadership position and is responsible for overseeing and optimising the day-to-day operations of the Dispense department. Their responsibilities are broad and impact many facets of the business. The Operations Manager for the Beer Dispensing Department is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department & operations, including maintenance, repair, and customer service related to beer dispensing systems. This role leads a team of technicians, drivers and support staff, ensuring high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and profitable operations. He/She will direct into the Head Of Dispense.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Strategic Planning & Execution:

* Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the overall business objectives. This involves forecasting, resource allocation, and process design.
* Strategic Initiatives: Lead and manage strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
* Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Regularly report on these metrics to leadership.
* Long-Term Planning: Contribute to long-term operational planning, anticipating future needs and developing strategies to address them.

2. Operational Efficiency & Optimisation:

* Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to maximise efficiency, minimise waste, and reduce costs. Implement lean methodologies and other best practices.
* Resource Management: Optimise the allocation of resources (human, financial, material) to support operational needs.
* Technology Implementation: Evaluate and implement new technologies to automate processes, improve productivity, and enhance operational capabilities.
* Supply Chain Management: Oversee chain operations, ensuring efficient procurement, inventory management, and logistics.

3. Team Leadership & Management

* Fostering a positive environment: Creating a culture of trust, respect, and open communication.
* Motivating and inspiring: Encouraging team members, recognising achievements, and providing constructive feedback.
* Addressing performance issues: Taking corrective action when necessary.
* Effective communication: Ensuring clear and timely communication within the team and with other stakeholders.
* Flexibility: Adjusting plans and strategies as needed.
* Decision-making: Making timely and informed decisions.
* Staffing & Scheduling: Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
* Oversee scheduling and workforce planning.

4. Quality Control & Compliance:

* Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure consistent product or service quality.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
* Always have sustainability in mind, considering the use of eco-friendly materials and reusable design elements where possible.

5. Customer Relationship Management:

* Customer Focus: Foster a customer-centric culture within the operations team.
* Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer satisfaction levels and implement strategies to improve customer experience.
* Complaint Resolution: Oversee the resolution of customer complaints and escalations.

6. Logistic Fleet and Staff Management:

* Oversee the scheduling and execution of beer dispensing system deliveries and collection, ensuring timely completion.
* Manage teams, providing guidance and support for daily operations.
* Coordinate with sales and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
* Creating driver schedules and assigning routes.
* Managing driver availability and time off.
* Dispatching drivers and providing them with necessary information.
* Monitoring driver performance and providing feedback.
* Investigating accidents and incidents.

Key Areas of Experience:

1. Supervisory or Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a team of employees. This includes hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a positive work environment.
2. Process Improvement & Optimization: Demonstrated history of identifying inefficiencies, analysing workflows, and successfully implementing changes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
3. Project Management: Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
4. Inventory Management (if applicable): Experience in overseeing procurement, logistics, inventory control, and vendor relationships is crucial.
5. Quality Assurance: Experience in establishing and maintaining quality standards, implementing control processes, and ensuring compliance.
6. Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: A track record of effectively identifying operational issues, analysing root causes, and making sound, timely decisions to resolve them.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working effectively with other departments (e.g., sales, finance, HR, IT) to align operational goals with overall business objectives.
