Role: Mechanic Location: North Dublin Salary: Excellent package on offer Role Requirements: Conduct diagnostics to identify vehicle issues. Perform routine maintenance on cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles (e.g., oil changes, brake checks, tyre fitting, etc.). Repair or replace defective parts and components (e.g., exhaust systems, timing belts, starters, alternators). Inspect and service engine systems, electrical systems, and transmissions. Use diagnostic tools and technology to identify faults in vehicle systems. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues. Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment. Maintain cleanliness and order in the workshop. Maintain accurate service records for all vehicles serviced. Ensure all work is documented, including parts used, time taken, and any follow-up requirements. Work collaboratively with other team members in the workshop to ensure efficient workflow. Candidate Roles: National Craft Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic) or equivalent recognised qualification. Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar. Proven experience with diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of a range of heavy vehicles. Familiarity with vehicle inspection standards and DOE/NCT testing procedures. Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Proficient with diagnostic tools and computer-based fault-finding systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills for liaising with supervisors, drivers, and suppliers. Knowledge of electric or hybrid HGV systems.
