The Role
The Vet Office is currently recruiting an
Out-of-Hours Veterinary Surgeon
for a well-established and busy veterinary hospital.

This position focuses entirely on
out-of-hours emergency and critical care cases
, working as the
sole-charge vet during the night shift
.
You will be responsible for the management of emergency presentations, stabilisation of critical patients, and performing urgent surgical procedures when required.
The role offers a
varied and interesting caseload
, with approximately:
60% medical cases
40% surgical cases
You will benefit from a

Working Schedule
Night shifts: 8:00 pm – 8:00 am (12-hour shifts)
Rota:
5 nights on / 10 nights off
(rolling rota)

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a veterinarian who is comfortable working independently and managing emergency cases.
The ideal candidate will have:
Confidence working
sole charge during night shifts
Solid
surgical skills
and ability to manage urgent procedures
Strong knowledge of
small animal medicine and emergency care
A calm, proactive approach in high-pressure situations
Previous
hospital or ECC experience is desirable but not essential
for the right candidate with good clinical foundations.
Salary & Benefits
Salary:
€50,000 – €80,000 depending on experience
VCI and VDS fees fully paid
