Paediatric Dysphagia Specialist
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment where you will provide specialized assessment, intervention, and management of swallowing and communication needs for children admitted to the acute service.
About the Role
As a Paediatric Dysphagia Specialist, you will lead the assessment and management of swallowing and communication difficulties in paediatric inpatients. You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
* Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the swallow function and communication skills of paediatric patients
* Provide clinical supervision and support to junior SLTs and students as appropriate
* Contribute to service development initiatives within the paediatric and acute SLT service
You will be required to possess strong clinical reasoning and team-working skills, with the ability to work autonomously within a busy acute care setting.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* CORU registration
* A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including paediatric dysphagia
* Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team
* Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills
