Who we are looking for Charles River Development is looking for an experiencedCloud Platform Engineerwho willbuild, harden and monitor the infrastructure our SaaS core infrastructure, application platforms, and data platforms - with strong expertise in Azure API Management (APIM) to support our firm's digital transformation and cloud modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record implementing secure, scalable, and compliant API solutions within a regulated financial environment, ensuring alignment with enterprise governance and data protection standards. The position is a highly dynamic technical role that will participate in the design, delivery, and oversight of Azure infrastructure with a focus on automation and cyber resiliency. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019. What you will be responsible for As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will: Design and set up highly available platform components on Azure Cloud Design, deploy, and manage Azure API Management (APIM) solutions supporting internal and external financial applications. Implement API governance and lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and data-handling standards required in financial services. Collaborate with architecture and security teams to integrate APIM with Azure Application Gateway, Azure AD, and private networking models. Establish secure API onboarding processes for business and partner integrations. Automate infrastructure deployment using ARM/Bicep/Terraform/Azure Devops and ensure consistency across non-production and production environments. Optimize performance and reliability of APIs through monitoring, tuning, and analytics using Azure Monitor and Application Insights. Work closely with InfoSec, Risk, and Compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001). Support integration of APIM with firewalls, WAFs (e.g., Palo Alto), and zero-trust network architectures. Provide technical mentorship to engineers and contribute to cloud best-practice frameworks across the organization. Configure and manage the CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps according to best practices Balance pragmatism with vision; continually assessing the security posture of cloud applications and deliver improvements to the team's tools, processes and codebase Contribute documentation & collaboration site content to drive knowledge sharing Ensure that new cloud solutions properly implement security controlsas standards dictate What we value Applied expertise in designing/implementing secure platforms for applications and data Thorough understanding of both Windows and Linux-based infrastructure A passion for learning about emerging technologies and sharing knowledge Experience documenting technology standards, operational procedures, and requirements Education & Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Cloud Engineering, including APIM, networking, and automation. Proven experience designing and maintaining enterprise-grade APIM implementations. Strong understanding of Azure networking, private endpoints, VNETs, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity. Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). Strong grasp of security and identity management principles - Azure AD, Key Vault, Managed Identities, RBAC. Familiarity with financial industry controls such as data encryption, segregation of duties, and least-privilege models. Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills in a matrixed financial organization.
