Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health)
1 x Full Time Posts, 35 hours per week
Salay is commensurate with experience on the above scale
The post is based in Letterkenny town, covering county Donegal.
Role
The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health is to asses individuals in their own homes, devise person centred care plans, engage in and plan mental health interventions and advocate for and make referrals within mental health and the wider community as deemed necessary. The CNS will be working as a part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering a high-quality Housing First service in the Northwest of Ireland. Housing First is a model of housing that provides housing with wrap around supports to those who have been long- term homeless and who have a history of complex trauma and rough sleeping. The service provides support through intensive case management with multi-disciplinary specialisms to provide support to tenants in their own homes. The CNS is also expected to advise and educate the team within their professional expertise of mental health.
Location
Northwest Housing First is delivered across the region of the Northwest of Ireland; this post will be based with a multi-disciplinary team in Letterkenny town, covering county Donegal.
The service is currently provided Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. With the intention of the service being extended to Saturdays in the future. Saturdays will be worked on a staff rotational basis.
Successful applicants will:
Be a registered nurse in the Psychiatric Division on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives.
Hold a relevant (level 8) post-graduate qualification in Mental Health.
Have a minimum of 1 years' experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full-time experience in Mental Health Specialist Care.
Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the specialist area.
Be fully competent and capable of undertaking duties as specified within the job description and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Access to own car and a full driving licence.
