Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst

About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, a leading financial services organisation, we are seeking DLP Analysts to join an expanding Data Loss Prevention and Insider Risk capability within their cyber security team.

Our client is building this capability from the ground up and is looking for motivated individuals with the right analytical mindset and passion for security.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor, triage, and investigate DLP alerts and incidents across email, endpoints, and cloud platforms
* Support data protection, insider risk, and information security initiatives
* Analyse events and patterns to identify potential data exfiltration or policy violations
* Collaborate with SOC, Threat Intelligence, Legal, Compliance, and IT teams to support investigations
* Assist in tuning DLP policies and improving alert quality to reduce false positives
* Support phishing analysis and response activities
* Document findings, actions taken, and outcomes in accordance with internal standards
* Contribute to process improvement, automation, and operational maturity as the programme evolves
Tools & Technologies
Experience with the following tools is beneficial but full training will be provided:
* Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk)
* Proofpoint (email security/phishing)
* Varonis (data classification, access analytics, and monitoring)
Required & Preferred Qualifications
* 1–5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, DLP, SOC, Threat Intelligence, or Security Operations
* Understanding of data protection concepts, sensitive data types, and security controls
* Experience or exposure to financial services environments is advantageous
* Familiarity with incident response workflows and security investigations
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Results-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn
* Comfortable working as part of a team that is being built and scaled
