The Role
COPE Galway Corrib Haven Family Hub is an emergency accommodation facility for 10 single parent families experiencing homelessness. Corrib Haven provides intensive keyworking supports, especially focused on housing, to support a successful exit from homelessness.
The Coordinator has overall responsibility for the operation of Corrib Haven, ensuring the provision of a high-quality service in line with NQSF (National Quality Standards Framework for Homeless Services). They lead, support, and supervise staff to work to their fullest potential, mentoring colleagues and embedding the values of COPE Galway and a trauma-informed approach within the service.

Team Support and Training
Our team receives regular supervision, access to an Employee Assistance Programme, and on-the-job training, including Trauma Informed Care, First Aid, Safety Intervention, Overdose Response, and additional workshops on Diversity, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
* Lead the Family Hub team, building capacity and supporting staff and volunteers.
* Participate in recruitment, induction, and training of staff and volunteers.
* Support the rollout of Trauma Informed Practice and model leadership behaviors.
* Develop and promote a proactive, strengths-based approach to working with at-risk families.
* Identify service gaps and work on service development.
Service Management
* Ensure smooth daily operations in accordance with COPE Galway policies.
* Manage administrative and financial procedures.
* Oversee database systems, incident reporting, and client involvement.
* Ensure compliance with NQSF standards and handle complaints appropriately.
* Provide performance reports as required.
Client Services
* Maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
* Implement a flexible, proactive approach to client engagement.
* Carry out assessments professionally and sensitively.
* Support families in exiting emergency accommodation into long-term housing.
* Assist clients in accessing local services and address issues sensitively.
Interagency Collaboration
* Work effectively with Galway City and County Councils, HSE, and TUSLA.
* Build positive relationships with external agencies and the local community.
* Report to funders as needed.
Health and Safety
* Maintain health and safety standards per COPE Galway policies.
* Ensure hygiene standards and contribute to safety procedures.
General
* Work effectively as part of the team and organization.
* Participate in meetings, supervision, training, and professional development.
* Adhere to child protection, data protection, and organizational policies.
* Participate in on-call management and perform other duties as required.
Terms and Conditions
37 hours/week, permanent contract, salary €47,752, paid monthly.
Person Specification
Minimum of one year in a management role in similar services, two years working with vulnerable communities, relevant third-level qualification or registered as a social care worker, full driving license, and experience with homeless families.
Core competencies include leadership, collaboration, relationship-building, problem-solving, professionalism, and resilience.
