Job Purpose
The Electrical Site Manager will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of all electrical installation activities on a pharmaceutical manufacturing project in. The role requires strong leadership, coordination across disciplines, and strict adherence to GMP, Irish statutory regulations, and client quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Project Management
· Manage and supervise all on-site electrical works from installation through commissioning and handover
· Plan and sequence electrical works in line with the overall project programme
· Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers, and specialist vendors
· Attend meetings & Interface with Project Management, Engineering, QA/QC, Validation, and Client teams
Safety, Quality & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with:
o Irish Health & Safety legislation
o Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations
o ET101 / I.S National Rules for Electrical Installations
o GMP and GxP requirements
· Enforce site safety, permits to work, and LOTO procedures
· Review, implement, and manage RAMS
· Ensure electrical installations meet pharmaceutical and cleanroom standards
Technical & Construction Oversight
* Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schedules
* Oversee installation and coordination of:
* LV power distribution systems
* Lighting and small power
* UPS and generator systems
* Earthing and bonding systems
* Containment, cable management, and ATEX installations (where applicable)
* BMS, EMS, and process electrical services
* Fire Alarm Systems
* Access Control Wiring
* Coordinate inspections, testing, snagging, and commissioning activities
* Maintain accurate site records and progress reports
* Support commissioning and validation documentation (IQ/OQ support)
* Review and contribute to as-built drawings and O&M manuals
* Ensure full electrical certification and handover documentation is complete
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience
· Minimum 5+ years experience in an Electrical Site Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor role
· Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Data Centre project experience in Ireland (desirable)
· Experience delivering works in GMP-regulated environments (desirable)
· Proven track record managing subcontractors and large electrical packages
· Working in Live Environments
Technical Knowledge
· Strong understanding of Irish electrical standards and inspection/testing requirements
· Experience with complex, high-specification electrical systems
· Familiarity with commissioning, validation, and client QA processes
Leadership & Communication
· Strong people management and coordination skills
· Comfortable working with multinational pharma clients
· Excellent communication and reporting skills
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential
· Electrical Trade Qualification (National Craft Certificate / Apprenticeship)
· Safe Pass
· Manual Handling
· CSCS / Solas-approved certification
Desirable
· Degree in Electrical Engineering
· First Aid Responder
· Experience with ATEX and hazardous area installations
· Previous work on IDA or large pharma campus projects
