They specialize in providing road maintenance services across the network. They are seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager in Galway. The role involves planning and delivering site operations, ensuring work complies with specifications, safety standards, customer requirements, and quality and safety systems. The Contracts Manager will also be responsible for the financial performance of contracts.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram and schedule works to maximize resource efficiency.Coordinate as Project Supervisor per the Safety, Health and Welfare Act.Prepare Construction Stage Health and Safety Plans from client-provided preliminary plans.Conduct regular inspections and audits on Temporary Traffic Management.Communicate site inductions, methods statements, and safe systems of work to visitors, employees, contractors, and suppliers.Liaise with Operations Managers and ensure proper record keeping for project aspects such as material usage, plant and equipment, labor, safety audits, toolbox talks, task briefings, and work variations.Monitor the quality of Surface Dressing works for compliance.Coordinate testing and sampling of emulsions and aggregates.Order raw materials from approved suppliers and identify potential new suppliers.Ensure only approved contractors are appointed for subcontracted operations.Plan, forecast, and schedule works efficiently.Manage financial performance of contracts, including cost management and timely invoicing.Complete monthly accounts, including WIP and accruals, on time.Maintain control over work in progress.Nurture existing customer relationships and develop new ones.Managerial ResponsibilitiesLead contracting operations across Ireland.Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, maintaining zero tolerance for unsafe acts and aiming for zero fatalities and LTIs.Achieve annual revenue and margin targets.Expand market share in revenue, tonnage, and products.Develop internal and external capabilities for road maintenance services, including people, equipment, and partnerships.Measure performance in productivity, quality, safety, costs, revenue, and asset management.Implement programs to improve efficiency.Contribute to tendering processes efficiently.Identify and develop new market opportunities and adapt to customer needs.Adhere to environmental procedures like recycling and waste minimization, and seek improvements.Promote positive employee relations and effective teamwork.Skills and QualificationsLevel 8 degree in Civil/Construction or equivalent; industry-recognized safety training.Up to 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in road surfacing or contracting.Knowledge of contracting, estimating, project management, health & safety, and outsourcing.Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and stakeholder engagement.Analytical problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively without direct management responsibilities.
