The ideal candidate will have a background in occupational health and safety or environmental management, through hands-on work experience or academic studies. The SHEQ Officer will work with various departments to foster a culture of SHEQ. Location: Slane – multi-site role covering Slane and Knockharley
Responsibilities
* Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts in the workplace, report on internal systems, and recommend control measures.
* Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
* Provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop corrective actions.
* Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being.
* Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address SHEQ concerns.
* Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed.
* Promote a culture of SHEQ excellence throughout the organization.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ processes.
Qualifications
* Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental management is advantageous.
* Proven experience as an EHS Officer or similar role, preferably in a high-risk industry.
* Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
