Your company is involved in road construction and maintenance across Ireland. They seek a Project Director to lead contracting operations.
Job Description
The successful candidate will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
* Programming and scheduling works to optimize resource allocation.
* Coordinating project supervisors as per the Safety, Health and Welfare Act.
* Preparing Construction Stage Health and Safety Plans from client-provided preliminary plans.
* Conducting regular inspections/audits on Temporary Traffic Management.
* Ensuring communication of Site Inductions, Methods Statements & Safe Systems of Work for all visitors, employees, contractors, and suppliers.
* Liaising with Operations Managers/Supervisors/Managers to maintain proper record-keeping for various projects.
* Monitoring Surface Dressing work quality to ensure compliance.
* Coordinating testing and sampling of emulsions and aggregates.
* Verifying raw materials are sourced from approved suppliers only and identifying potential suppliers.
* Appointing only Approved Contractors for subcontract operations.
* Planning, forecasting, and scheduling works.
* Managing contract financial performance, proactive cost management, and submitting invoicing/valuations promptly.
* Completing monthly accounts, including WIP and Accruals, in a timely manner.
Managerial Responsibilities
The Project Director will be responsible for:
* Directing, managing, and leading contracting operations across the Republic of Ireland.
* Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and quality standards, prioritizing the safety of all contracting teams and achieving a zero target for fatalities and LTIs.
* Meeting annual revenue and margin deliverables as agreed with the Head of Contracting.
* Growing market share in terms of revenue, tonnage, and products.
* Developing internal and external capabilities to deliver road maintenance services across the Island of Ireland, including people, plant, equipment, facilities, contracting skills, and external partners.
* Measuring performance in areas such as productivity, quality, health & safety, costs, revenue, and asset management.
* Developing programs to improve production efficiency.
* Contributing to tenders in a timely and efficient manner.
* Broadening market opportunities, introducing new products and methodologies, and adapting to changing customer needs.
* Ensuring environmental procedures, such as recycling and waste minimization, are adhered to and improved where possible.
* Fostering a positive employee relations atmosphere within the organization.
* Optimizing human resource utilization by promoting involvement, open communication, and effective teamwork.
